JOY TANNER YOGA

Joy is certified as a yoga teacher RYT 500 and in Thai Yoga Bodywork. She completed her 200 and 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training from the Asheville Yoga Center in Asheville, NC. Her personal practice began 16 years ago when she was experiencing back pain from her studio work as a potter. Yoga and strength training has become a regular part of her life that enables her to continue the work she does! Throughout these years of deep immersion into her personal yoga practice she has become more aware and in tune with her body, mind and spirit.

  • Learn with Joy

    Joy currently teaches yoga classes with a focus on strength, alignment and stability. She incorporates pranayama (breathwork) and meditation into her classes. She invites students to tune into their own bodies and make the experience their own as they move throughout the experience.  Joy’s sweet and welcoming nature creates an experience that will energize, strengthen and revive as well as nourish and relax her students.  She teaches from the heart with themes that inspire and empower in order to cultivate an awareness that can be found on the yoga mat and taken out into everyday life. Joy teaches all levels slow flow yoga, strong vinyasa flow, gentle yoga, self massage techniques with therapy balls, restorative yoga, breathwork and meditation.   • Private Yoga Session

    I offer private 1-on-1 yoga sessions at my studio or online if you would like to develop a yoga practice, such as learning specific poses, or working on alleviating stiffness or tension in your body.  I can help you develop awareness of your body through a variety of practices. I teach to all levels with classes such as strong vinyasa flow, slow flow yoga, gentle yoga and restorative yoga. I offer myofascial release practices, Thai assisted yoga stretch, and pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation.  My current sliding scale rate is $60 - 90/hour. While one session with me can be very helpful, a class pack of 4-8 private sessions can be very beneficial.
