JOY TANNER YOGA

Joy completed her 200 and 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training from the Asheville Yoga Center in Asheville, NC; she is a certified yoga teacher RYT 500. Her personal practice began 15 years ago when she was experiencing back pain from her studio work as a potter. She realized that she hadn’t been taking care of her body and overworking instead of listening in to what her body needed. Throughout these years of deep immersion into her personal yoga practice she has become more aware and in tune with her body, mind and spirit.

    Joy teaches two classes a week, a strong vinyasa flow as well as a mixed levels slow flow yoga class with a focus on strength, alignment and stability. She incorporates pranayama (breathwork) and meditation into her classes. She invites students to tune into their own bodies and make the experience their own as they move throughout the experience.  Joy’s sweet and welcoming nature creates an experience that will energize, strengthen and revive as well as nourish and relax her students.  She teaches from the heart with themes that inspire and empower in order to cultivate an awareness that can be found on the yoga mat and taken out into everyday life.
