JOY TANNER YOGA
Joy completed her 200 and 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training from the Asheville Yoga Center in Asheville, NC; she is a certified yoga teacher RYT 500. Her personal practice began 15 years ago when she was experiencing back pain from her studio work as a potter. She realized that she hadn’t been taking care of her body and overworking instead of listening in to what her body needed. Throughout these years of deep immersion into her personal yoga practice she has become more aware and in tune with her body, mind and spirit.

Learn with Joy
Joy currently teaches a weekly strong vinyasa flow yoga class with a focus on strength, alignment and stability. She incorporates pranayama (breathwork) and meditation into her classes. She invites students to tune into their own bodies and make the experience their own as they move throughout the experience. Joy’s sweet and welcoming nature creates an experience that will energize, strengthen and revive as well as nourish and relax her students. She teaches from the heart with themes that inspire and empower in order to cultivate an awareness that can be found on the yoga mat and taken out into everyday life.

Upcoming Yoga Workshops
Roll into Relief, Self Massage and Gentle Yoga
Do you ever feel tight, stiff, achy, or weighed down by stress in your neck, shoulders, low back, hips, or feet? In this workshop, we’ll explore how simple ball-rolling techniques can help release knots, relieve chronic tension, improve circulation, and restore mobility—giving you the tools to recover faster, move with ease, and feel lighter in your body. After beginning with gentle yoga to warm and prepare the muscles, you’ll learn how to use tennis or lacrosse balls to massage fascia and target specific areas of discomfort. We’ll practice different rolling methods at the wall and on the mat, tuning into our own body’s signals and using the breath to soften tight spots and calm the nervous system. You’ll leave not only with the immediate relief of a deep reset, but also with skills you can take home for lasting self-care, flexibility, and resilience. All levels are welcome.
